6/29 Friday – Pancakes and sausage!

Posted by on June 30, 2012

6/29 Friday Chief of the Day:  Andrew (Cabin 5) Pancakes and sausage for breakfast, kids were eating it all up!  One of the favorite meals for sure.  The sunny day is making for an active morning, so we’ll all find a way to stuff ourselves at lunch. The afternoon became even windier, making for exhilarating rides on the Brawler, thanks to the big waves.  The sailors were out in full force, practicing their tacking and turns. Floor hockey was back […]

6/28 – Taco Bar!

6/28  Thursday Chief of the Day:  Iker (Cabin 3) We love the beautiful weather!  Zoo caught some minnows on Clear Lake, the TP ladder challenge is under way in Tennis, and our first camp Ultimate Frisbee game of the summer took place during cabin activities.  Summer’s much better when the disc is being thrown around.  The Taco Bar for dinner was awesome, always popular!  Some of the Woodland girls came over after dinner to swim and play on Nokomis and […]

6/27 Wednesday Chief of the Day:  Luis (Cabin 11) Another gorgeous sunny morning.  A strong gentle wind is on Nokomis.  So far this morning, Zoo caught a big Gardner snake, much to the dismay of the frogs, and Skindiving caught 2 turtles!  Diego has his crew primed for an exciting summer.  Crafts is designing/painting a new teepee for the Indian Bowl, looking pretty cool so far.  We’ll be taking photos of its progression, should look sweet for the Chief’s Campfire.  […]

6/26 Tuesday – Cabin cookout!

6/26 Tuesday Chief of the Day:  Matthew (Cabin 3) We had an incredible starry night, and the soccer filed continues to be a popular spot to gaze.  Can’t get that in the city!  It’s amazing to see satellites flying through the night sky. And we had another sunny morning to wake up to.  Nokomis gave the sailors some much needed wind, always cool to see the lake filled with white sails and to hear Gus (the sailing department’s small motorboat) […]

6/25 Monday – Great day for sailing!

6/25 Monday Chief of the Day:  Pedro (Cabin 5) Now that was a chilly night!  Fortunately, we all have comfy/thick blankets.  It turned out to be a gorgeous day:  blue skies and a friendly warm sun.  First session activities began with excitement and eagerness.  As always, a few kids are still figuring out what activities suit them best, but it only takes 1 or 2 days for them to settle into a fun routine. It’s great to finally hear the […]
