7/15 Paul Bunyan Day!

Posted by on July 15, 2012

(Posted by Joe Fitzsimmons) Paul Bunyan Day kicked off with another delicious pancake/sausage breakfast cooked by the CITs.  I love the thin/crispy pancakes and the sausages covered in maple syrup!!  Afterwards, the campers headed to Vespers where Jeff and Jon strummed “Put it There” and “Let it Be” while Cabin 8 shared their thoughts about “Honesty” and the importance of it at camp and in life in general.  I like the fact that I get to see and hear the […]

(Posted by Joe Fitzsimmons) It was awesome seeing so many alumni come back and participate in activities.  The campers really enjoyed getting to know them and to hear stories from the past.  Erik Leander was given the “Alumni Rider of the Week” award for his 2 periods of riding with Win and Jerry, which he absolutely loved.  It’s always great to have Win here for any amount of time!  And welcome back Alejandro Kunhardt after 17 years!! That was really […]

This is our alumni weekend here at Camp Towering Pines, as many of you know, and there were plenty of old-timers there cheering along with the current generation of TP men. The […]

Each cabin group comes together as a team to search for gold, stake their claim, and buy clues that lead them to the mother-load! Many of the Sunday special events divide the cabin group into teams to facilitate small team building. Gold Rush really unifies the cabin to work for a common goal and allows […]

Saturday, July 7th(Posted by Jonathan) Another beautiful day at Camp Towering Pines for boys! We finally got a break from the heat after a mighty storm swept through last night. It quenched to the parched land and made for a much more comfortable last day of the sign-up.The boys finished up their first sign-up schedules and selected their activities for the next two weeks. Several guys passed their level 6 in instructional swim today, which means that swim classes are […]
