A Peek Into Pre-Camp Staff Training

Around 30 TP staff have arrived safely to County D Road, and now the huge task of getting everybody ready for the 76th summer at Towering Pines begins. It goes without saying that some things just happen almost by themselves – the sun comes out, the sky turns blue and the cabins seem to gleam against the backdrop of pine and hardwood trees – but that’s just a small part of summer. Our 5 Core Values: The Foundation of Towering Pines

Posted by on June 12, 2022

As we gear up for another summer, we remember 2020 when we brought our leadership team together for what we called our “Summer Summit”. With an end goal of 2 camps – 1 mission – no divide, we worked towards bringing Towering Pines and Woodland together in a way that allowed us to unify our message and plan for the success of the next 25, 50, 75 years and beyond. Every cabin is mentioned in the script and every camper and staff member will be included in the slide show finale. Inside jokes are revealed. The unique personality of each cabin group is celebrated. We […]

The Ties That Bind Us

I recently had the opportunity to be a fly on the wall for a social with the 15-yr olds from both camps. It was interesting to see the two groups come together for the 2nd time this summer. The gals from Driftwood and the guys from Cabin 11, along with their counselors, spent an hour or so of hanging out in the lodge at Woodland. While I’m pretty sure teenagers around the world normally don’t congregate to play “get-to-know-you” games […]
