We’ve finally started our activities!  As soon as they were dismissed from the morning assembly, the boys ran in all directions to their classes, super excited to get things going.

A couple of things stood out today:  Josh was Chief of the Day; John caught a 17” small-mouth bass on Clear Lake; Sebastian got up on two skis for the first time and made it around Nokomis; and Michael got the high score at Riflery, a 42 kneeling!  Nice job guys!!

It’s awesome to hear the sounds of the ski-boat, to smell the wonderfully unique aroma of the horses, to see the action on the soccer field and the countless other things going on all around us.  The weather has been very nice the last few days, a stark contrast to the chilly rainy pre-camp.  It’s amazing how much a sunny day energizes the camp.  That being said, however, rain or shine, the kids are totally pumped up and ready to have fun.

These activities are a great opportunity for all of us to get to know each other outside the cabin.  It’s cool to see the boys working together while sailing, making things in crafts and making terrariums in the zoo/nature class.  It’s also a time for individual challenges in water-skiing, archery and swimming.

I’m looking forward to getting to know the many new campers and catch up with the returning ones. Good times ahead!
