Established in 1946 by experienced educators, Mr. & Mrs. Marion Jordan, Towering Pines is now in it's third generation of family ownership and direction - John Jordan and his son and daughter-in-law Jeff & Jenny Jordan. John was a 5th grade teacher in the Kenilworth Illinois school district for 30 years. Jeff and Jenny are teachers at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois. The continuity of Jordan family leadership is an important feature in the camps' reputation for excellence. In addition to specialized staff members we maintain one counseling staff member for every four campers. 
A great deal of careful planning, training and guidance is given to building the staff of teachers and college members who will have an important role in the success of the camping experience for you. Many of our most experienced staff members have been campers and have qualified through our leadership-training program. A TP counselor will have a positive and friendly attitude; inspire by example the confidence of the camper; and possess the creative skills and wisdom of a true leader. We introduce ourselves and well qualified staff members to you with pride and the confidence that comes from a 60-year history of providing children with one great summer after another of successful camping experiences! |
