Fourth of July!!
Happy 4th of July!!! I participated in the first water polo game of the summer. It felt good to be in the water after another hot day. Having so many people playing together brings out the best in camp spirit, and it’s good competitive exercise! For dinner, Cabin 11 cooked hamburgers for the entire camp at the main cookout pit. I had a double-cheeseburger with everything on it and washed it down with some potato chips, lemonade and an amazing chocolate chip cookie. After dinner, I jumped in the lake for a soap dip and got ready for the evening festivities.
Welcome Woodland! Our sister-camp came over for skits and songs at our annual Fourth of July campfire. Afterwards, we all gathered in the Assembly area and sat down to watch Jeff light off the fireworks. For me, it’s one of the most special nights of the summer because it’s an opportunity to meet some of the girls and to celebrate our country with awesome fireworks. To see all the glow sticks and fireworks with Nokomis in the background is truly a cool experience. Every time I sit down on the grass and watch this particular celebration, I think about all my friends from previous summers and also the new friends I’ve already made this one. It’s one of the best parts of camp for me.
